The Five Welcomes

It’s always interesting to me to hear people talk about what they think hospitable leadership is about. Some people think that when I talk about hospitable leadership that I am talking about classic hospitality – a first impressions ministry – a Martha Stewart dinner. Those things are in fact a small part of what I mean when I talk about hospitable leadership. But it is a much bigger concept than this. I’m talking about creating environments – physical, spiritual, emotional, attitudinal, communicative – where people and dreams flourish. This is a big idea!

I was asked by the good people at Charisma Leader to write an article for their Fall 2019 issue that would capture the big ideas of hospitable leadership in relatively few words.  It’s kind of a cliff notes version of my book The Hospitable Leader. If you’re interested in learning more here is a quick and fresh approach to the Five Welcomes of hospitable leadership. I hope you enjoy.
