A Good God

Genesis is the book of beginnings. Its central theme talks about God's desire to bless us. Its intention is not to tell us the detailed how, where and when of Creation, but the who and why. God is the who, and the why is that He wanted to create a community of people He could be in relationship with and bless, and with whom He could partner to spread His glory.

God has a good story to tell. A story about one God in three persons living in perfect unity. A story about a good God who created human beings in His own image.

A story of love and purpose and meaning.

For us to live a better story with our lives, it is essential that we infuse our thoughts with God's story of love and believe and act accordingly.

Think about God as He is described and as He describes Himself in Scripture. Ignore the other stories you have been told, ignore the narratives that claim this universe is a cosmic accident and that life has no meaning, or that if there is a God, He does not care about someone like you.

Consider the possibility that more than anything else what the infinite, personal, transcendent, immanent, omniscient, sovereign, and good God most wants to do is bless you.
